NETHERLANDS, West Friesland, Dutch rijksdaalder, 1620, (28.46 g), obv. *MO.ARG. PRO. CONFOE.BELG.WEST F RI, armoured half bust of William the Silent with sword and holding provincial arms of West Priesland, rev, +CONCORDIA. RES. PARVAE. CRESCVNT, crowned arms dividing date 16 20, (D.4842, KM.15.1). Very fine, some weakness in legend, scarce.

United Netherlands rijksdaalders were first struck by Leicester in 1586, but with an effigy of William the Silent in 1589. West Friesland issued 'old' rijksdaalders from 1592 to 1601 and 'Dutch' rijksdaalders, with William the Silent and small provincial arms on the obverse and Dutch arms on the reverse, from 1607.
