TRAVELLING SURGICAL KIT, English made c1870s-1890s, housed in a folding leather pouch (approx 14x8cm when folded), contains several items including silver implement marked WS from Sheffield, 1866; tenaculum in tortoise shell sheath marked S.Mawson & Thompson, London (1870-1901); long nosed implement engraved T*P; blunt ended scissors by Robert McQueen & Sons, Newcastle (1840-1890); tissue forceps, thongs and three items in tortoise shell sheaths by Skidmore, Sheffield (1850-1920); one bone handled item; one bone item opening to reveal piercing needle. Damage to leather case, otherwise fine - very fine.
