MEMORIAL PLAQUE WWI, for Gallipoli, named to Charles Frederick Richard Bosward. Cleaned, otherwise good very fine.

958 Charles Frederick Richard Bosward, age 24, clerk, born at Sydney; Enl.02Sep1914; Emb.19Oct1914; L/Cpl 29Mar1915, Cpl 04Apr1915, L/Sgt 02Aug1915; WIA 09Aug1915 - The 4th Bn had captured trenches at Lone Pine and were about to be relieved by the 2nd Bn. Just as they were leaving the trenches a shell landed on the overhead covering of the Headquarters and wounded a telegraphist in the hand and badly wounded L/Sgt Bosward in the leg. He was transferred to the field hospital on the beach but died of his wounds on 14Aug1915. He was buried at Beach Cemetery, Gallipoli.
