GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 240, (4.49 g), obv. radiate bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. VIRTVS AVG around, Virtus standing to left holding branch and spear, shield at feet, (S.8669, RIC 71, RSC 388). Extremely fine.
