CAPTAIN JAMES COOK, memorial medal in bronzed copper (43 mm) by L. Pingo for the Royal Society in 1784 (MH 374; BHM 258; Eimer 780). Light red brown patina previously cleaned, edge charcoal brown toned from earlier storage, nearly FDC.

Ex John J.Ford Jr. Collection (lot 473). Previously from A.H.Baldwin & Sons on June 16, 1967.
