HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), AE as, Rome mint, (10.96 gm), issued 134-138, obv. laureate bust of Hadrian to right, around HADRIANVS AVG COS III PP, rev. S C in exergue, around AFRICA, Africa wearing elephant trunk on head, reclining left, holding scorpion and leaning on rock, (S.3673, RIC 841, C.143). Dark tone, very fine and rare.
