PUPIENUS, (A.D. 238), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, (5.25 gm), issued May - July A.D. 238, obv. bearded Pupienus radiate draped and cuirassed bust to right, around IMP CAES PVPIEN MAXIMVS AVG. rev. clasped hands, around PATRES SENATVS, (S.8521, BMC 81, RIC 11a, RSC 19). Large flan, extremely fine and rare.
