MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.08 grams), Lampsacus mint, issued c.328-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, Artemis to left, **D* below throne, to right **ALEXANDR[OU]*. (cf.S.6730, Price 1356, BMC 1356a-c, M.398, SNG Cop.881); Peloponnesos, Achaean League, (c.160-150 B.C.), silver hemidrachm, (2.14 grams), Sparta (Lacedaemon) mint, mint mark caps of the Dioscuri on reverse, obv. Zeus head laureate right, rev, wreath with XA monogram within, monogram above, (cf.S.2987, Clerk 319); Caria, Caunos (Kaunos), (c.after 167 B.C.), silver hemidrachm, (1.05 grams), obv. head of Athena to right, in crested Corinthian helmet, rev. sword in sheath with strap, above magistrate name ANTA[I], a palm branch to right, K AX monogram across, (cf.S.4818, SNG Finland I 80). Nearly very fine and scarce. (3)
