ETON COLLEGE, Pelham Prize Medal, in gold (23ct; 32.9gm, 35.8mm) by W.Wyon, obverse, head right, Henry Pelham Duke of Newcastle, around, Eton 1833, below, reverse, 'Prima/Sequentem/Honestum est/in Secundis/Consistere', within open wreath, edge inscribed 'Henry Babington Smith 1882'. With case, test scrape on obverse edge at 3 o'clock, otherwise nearly uncirculated.

Sir Henry Babington Smith, 1863-1923, educated at Eton College and Trinity College Cambridge where he read Classics. He later became a senior British Civil Servant.
