BITHYNIA, Nicaea, Antoninus Pius, (A.D.138-161), AE 28, (12.792 grams), obv. laureate bust draped and cuirassed of Antoninus Pius to right, around AVT KAI T**AIL ADR ANTWNIN*OC, rev. emperor seated to left on a cart drawn by two elephants, above TON KTICTHN, in exergue NICAIEIC, (S.-, cf.SNG von Aulock 7017, cf.Waddington 400 [p.23 notes as a quadriga and with Dionysos]). Black patina with earthern highlights, nearly very fine and very rare.
