THESSALY, Thessalian League, (c.196-mid 1st century B.C.), silver drachm, (3.938 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Apollo to right, laureate, behind oN monogram, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSA LWN*, above, between figure A N/T I, (cf.S.2234, McClean 4974 [p.243, Pl.180,15]). Bright, nearly very fine and rare.
