MACEDON, Amphipolis (158-149 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.894 grams), obv. Macedonian shield, at centre of which is a bust of Artemis Tauropolos to right with bow and quiver at her shoulder, rev. **MAKEDONWN PRWTHS* in two lines, club between legend, monogram AYP above, all within oak wreath, to left of which a thunderbolt, (S.1386, BMC 1 [p.7], SNG Manchester 748, Hunter 1, McClean 3706, SNG Cop. 1310-1, SNG Ash. 3290-2). Slightly off centred on the obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine/extremely fine and rare in this condition.
