MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.308 grams), Amphipolis mint, issued 315-294 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left **L* over torch, M over star under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 481, BMC 481, M.-, SNG Munich 327-8). Fine, corroded, scarce.
