SICILY, Syracuse, reign of Hieron II, (275-215 B.C.), AE 18, (5.870 grams), obv. head of Poseidon to left, wearing tainia, rev. ornamental trident-head between two dolphins dividing **IER WNOS*, o **F* below, (S.1223, BMC 611, McClean 2927, SNG ANS 964ff.). Brown patina, good very fine and scarce.
