ANDRONICUS I, Commenus, (A.D. 1183-1185), Billon aspron trachy, Constantinople mint, obv. Virgin standing facing, MP-OV either side, rev. Christ and Andronicus holding labarum and cross on globe, legend either side, (S.1985, Hendy Pl.18, 13-16, BMC 5-9). Good very fine, obverse mistruck.

Purchased December 1901 from Antiquarica, USA.
