IONIA, Island of Samos, (c.200 B.C.), silver tetrobol, (2.690 grams), obv. lion scalp facing, within border of dots, rev. forepart of ox to right, **SAMIWN* above, crater and monogram *APG* below, (cf.S.4663 [£120], Barron Attic Standard type j, Pl.XXIX, 18 [Obv. die HA307], McClean 8420, BMC 181). Toned with some surface tooling, otherwise good fine/very fine and scarce.
