Valens, (A.D. 364-378), gold solidus, Antioch mint, issued 366-367, 8th Officina, (4.32 g), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valens around DN VALENS PER F AVG, rev. Valens standing facing head to right, holding labarum symbol and Victory, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, ANTH . in exergue, (S.4104, RIC IX 2dxiii C.32, Depeyrot 27/3). Light hoard discolouration, otherwise nearly very fine and scarce.
