GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE Sestertius, issued 239, Rome mint, (15.71 grams), obv. laureate bust to right of Gordian III, draped and cuirassed, around IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG, rev. Gordian standing to left, sacrificing over tripod altar, around [P M] TR P II COS P P, S C across, (S.8724, RIC 271, C.211). Green patina, nearly very fine.
