Admission ticket, 'Visit of Special Service Squadron to New South Wales, April 1924. Admit one/to Special Inspection, H.M.S. "Hood,"/Saturday, 19th April, 1924. Steamer leaves No.8 Wharf (Lane Cove Jetty), Circular Quay, at 9.45 a.m. sharp.' Very fine.
HMS Hood in company with HMS Repulse and the Light Cruiser Squadron visited Australia in 1923/24. Known as 'The Empire Cruise' or 'World Cruise', it was known by the crews as 'The Booze Cruise'. HMS Hood was sunk by the German ship Bismark on 24 May 1941 in The Battle of the Denmark Strait. The Bismark was sunk on 27 May 1941. The ticket was used by H.A. Judd when she took a group of school children to visit the 'Squadron'.
