C. VIBIUS C.F.C.N. Pansa Caetronianus, (48 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.48 grams), obv. young Bacchus to right wearing ivy wreath, PANSA behind, rev. Ceres walking to right, with two outstretched torches, plough before, C.VIBIVS C.F.C.N. behind, (S.421, Cr.449/2, Syd.946, RSC.Vibia 16). Banker's marks on obverse and reverse, otherwise bright, nearly very fine and scarce, with collector's ticket.

This moneyer was an adherent of Caesar, but after the latter's death became a staunch Republican. He was elected consul in 43 B.C. but was killed at Mutina during the engagement with Mark Antony.
