M. PLAETORIUS M.F.CESTIANUS, (67 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.39 grams), obv. turreted bust of Cybele to right, CESTIANVS behind, rev. curule chair, scorpion to left, M PLAETORIVS AED CVR EX S C around, (S.350, RSC.Plaetoria 3, Cr.409/2, Syd.808). Lightly toned, good very fine.

This coin refers to the celebration of the Ludi Megalesiaci in honour of Cybele.
