L. FLAMINIUS CHILO, (109-108 B.C.), Rome mint, (3.86 grams), obv. helmeted head of Roma to right, ROMA behind, X below chin, rev. Victory in biga, L. FLAMIN[I] below, and [CILO] in exergue, (S.179, Cr.302/1, Syd.540, RSC Flaminia 1). Banker's mark on obverse, otherwise nearly very fine.

This reverse likely records the success in Gaul in 223 B.C. of C. Flaminius, the first member of the moneyer's family who rose to eminence.
