Mars and bound female captive (Nerio) in quadriga to right, CN G[EL] below, ROM[A] in exergue, (S.109, Cr.232/1, Syd.434, RSC.Gellia 1); Cn. Lentulus Clodianus, (88 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.79 grams), obv. Mars helmeted bust right, seen from behind, rev. Victory in biga to right, CN LENTVL in exergue, (S.254, Cr.345/1, Syd.702, RSC Cornelia 50). Toned, very fine. (2)

The reverse of the Gellius piece refers to the rape of Nerio and her subsequent marriage to Mars.
