SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius II, (129-126/5 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.28 grams), Tyre mint, issued 128-7 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius II to right, rev. eagle standing to left with closed wings on prow of galley, palm branch behind, Tyre monogram above club to left, year to right *EPR*, other letters in field, Fp monogram between legs, around **BAS[ILEWS] DHMHTIOU*, (cf.S.7105, SC.2195.3b, Newell "Tyre" [ANS-MN 73] 167, SNG Spaer 2242). Slightly off centre on obverse, attractive toning, very fine, comes with collector's ticket.
