SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), gold aureus, Rome mint, issued A.D. 205, (7.17 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around LIBERALITAS AVG VI, Liberalitas standing left, holding abacus in right hand and cornucopiae in left hand, (cf.S.6210, RIC 278a, C.297a, Calico 2479). Extremely fine, about as struck with a spectacular portrait, very fine style and very rare.
