CHINA. Country Club, Bubbling Well Road, Shanghai, debenture for one hundred taels Shanghai sycee, issue of 1901, blue and red on buff, with four handwritten transfers on back dated 1915, 1920, 1936, 1948. With pin holes, folds and creases, 8mm cut to right edge, very fine.
The Country Club, c1880-1910, was a social club limited to 225 members, situated on Bubbling Well Road in what originally was the residence of Frank Blackwell Forbes, taipan of Russell & Co.
