CAPPADOCIA, Caesarea, Gordian III, (A.D. 238-242), AE 24, (6.71 grams), year 7 = A.D. 244, obv. laureate head to right of Gordian III, around AV K M ANT **GORDIAN*OC, rev. Six ears of corn in vase, across ET Z, around MHTP KAI B N, (S.3778, SNG Cop. 311, Syd. 616a, BMC 346). Very fine/good very fine and rare.

Ex Professor Thomas Ollive Mabbott Collection, sold Hans M.F. Schulman Gallery Auction June 6-11, 1969 (lot 2413) bought by Spink & Son, London with their ticket and listed in the Numismatic Circular No.3515, June 1984, and illustrated.
