ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.480 B.C.), silver stater, (7.83 grams), obv. six grain ear of corn, META upwards and some letters upside down on right, rev. six grain ear of corn, incuse, with diagnostic edge die break at 10 o'clock. (cf. S.238, Noe 235, BMC 22. cf. SNG Cop. 1165, cf.SNG Lockett 369). Nearly extremely fine and rare.
