FAMILY GROUP: Husband. Pair: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 12905 Pte. L.A.Polhill. A.S.C. A.I.F. Both medals impressed. Wife (formerly). Defence Medal 1939-45. Unnamed but in named O.H.M.S. box of issue. All medals uncirculated.

Together with other related family items; Husband (Pte L.A.Polhill): aluminium dog tag; small religious diary (cover & some pages missing); Leave Pass (Final Leave) A.I.F.Training Camp 5-13/10/16; postcard of TSS Katoomba; letter from M.Morgan 'On Active Service'; official letter for delivery of medals to wife in England, dated 18 Feb 1924; about 150 letters to Florrie Heasman who became his wife. Wife (Florence B.Polhill later Johnson): The British Red Cross Society, County of Surrey, gilt and enamel badge, reverse impressed '13295 / F.Johnson'; another, but the Red Cross First Aid Proficiency Badge, reverse impressed '011267 / F.B.Johnson' in named box of issue and Proficiency Voucher dated 2/4/42. Brother (Pte W.H.Polhill): 13 Bn AIF, DOW received in action, 12/4/17, France, Memorial Card. Brother (Pte H.W.Polhill): 10th Reinforcements, 54 Bn AIF, committed suicide at Liverpool Camp on 23 August 1917 where he was undergoing military training; Military Allotment Certificate, Nov 1916; MIZPAH embroidered gold on black ribbon, sweetheart ribbon to give good fortune for a safe return. Private Leonard Arthur Polhill, farmer, age 29; Enl.26Feb1916 22 Rfs, Fld Butcheries; Emb.08Nov1916; RTA on TSS Katoomba 25Sep1919; Disch.09Nov1919; killed in an accident in the bush shortly after his return to Australia. Together with research on all three Polhill brothers.
