GROUP OF SIX TO COMMANDER HINTON COLIN JOSEPH SHAND, Royal Navy Distinguished Service Cross (1944); 1939-45 Star, Africa Star (North Africa 1942-43); British War Medal 1939-45; Korea Medal (Cdr H.C.J.Shand. D.S.C. R.N.); United Nations General Service Medal Korea. Korea Medal named, impressed, others unnamed. Very fine.

DSC: London Gazette 9 May 1944. 'For great skill and devotion to duty in HMS Whitehaven, in clearing enemy minefields to enable supply convoys and bombardment forces to operate in support of the Eighth Army in their advance from Egypt to Tunis.'

Together with some personal and service details, including exchange service with the Royal Australian Navy; and relevant London Gazette entry.
