CHINA. Country Club, Bubbling Well Road, Shanghai, debenture for one hundred taels Shanghai sycee, issue of 1901, blue and red on white, with four handwritten transfers on back dated 1915, 1920, 1936, 1948. With pinholes, folds and creases, very fine.
The Country Club, c.1880-1910, was a social club limited to 225 members, situated on Bubbling Well Road, in what originally was the residence of Frank Blackwell Forbes, taipan of Russell & Co.
