COMMONWEALTH, (1649-1660), silver crown, 1652, (29.71 grams), obverse with W and G joined to outer circle, reverse with large 2 with only a trace of 1 below, (S.3214, N.2721, ESC 5A [R3]). Attractive dark grey tone, slightly double struck on legends, otherwise round and nearly extremely fine being very rare in this condition.

Ex Dolphin Coins, London, November 1981 and from the Spink Auctions, London, No.14, March 19, 1981 (lot 117), previously from the Glendining, London Auction April 10 1974 (lot 217) with tickets. Another "workmanship piece" being round, well centred and struck on a broad flan.
