COMMONWEALTH, (1649-1660), silver crown, 1649, (30.01 grams), obverse with traces of wire line inner circle, second N of ENGLAND inverted, single pellet stops in both legends, (S.3214, N.2721, ESC 2 [R5]). Attractive light grey tone, round and nearly very fine, very rare in this condition.

Ex Spink, London (through Patrick Finn) who bought it at the Glendining Auction Sale No.3, 20 March 1985 (lot 149) coming from the T.S.C. Pace Collection, lot includes Glendining ticket. A "workmanship piece" according to Seaby in 1985 being round, well centred and struck on a broad flan.
