CHARLES I, (1625 - 1649), Oxford mint, silver crown, mm plume with band, dated 1643, Morrieson B-1, (28.72 grams), obv. Oxford horseman on groundline, plume with band in field, rev. three plumes with bands in field, four pellets in legend after INIMICI, N over retrograde N in INIMICI, (S.2947, N.2406, Brooker 873 [same dies). Toned, struck on a broad flan, round and attractive, nearly very fine/very fine and very rare.

Ex Format, Birmingham, Catalogue No.29, November 1984 (item 2583) and previously from the Spink Auctions London, No.6 11 October 1979 (lot 645), and from Glendining Auction London 18 June 1975 (lot 124 [incorrectly described]) the Robert Patrick Vetnon Brettell Collection.
