CHARLES I, (1625 - 1649), Tower mint under king, silver crown, mm prostrate anchor, issued 1638-9, Group III, type 3a, (29.71 grams), rev. four pellets either side of mint mark, (S.2758, N.2195, Cooper XVIII/XXV, cf.Brooker 263 [same obverse die]). Toned, round and attractive, good very fine and rare.

Ex Seaby Coins, London, August 1981, and previously from the Spink Auctions No.6 11 October 1979 (lot 31) coming from the N. Asherson Collection who bought it from Spink in August 1956, with ticket,
