BELGIUM, Louis Gallait born at Tournai, Exposition medal, 1841, in bronze (66mm) by Joseph Pierre Braemt, obverse, Gallait bust left, reverse, tableau with columns beside and double headed eagle and crown above, cherubs below with feathers, laurel wreath and artist's palette with medals attached, legend in French for the town and Royal Academy of Dessin near Ghent, on tableau, abdication of Charles V, testimony of admiration, Exposition 1841 18th Salon. Very minute edge bump near 12 o'clock, good extremely fine.

Louis Gallait was a Belgian painter 1810-1887.
