CHINA, Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty (1644-1911), De Zong (Kuang Hsu), (1875-1908), Tianxia Taiping cast brass, "Tian Xia Tai Ping" (Heaven below Great Peace - Peace on earth) on reverse as four characters, pobably a Board of Revenue manufacture, 45mm, (34.47 grams), (KM.C.-, Hartill 26.3 reverse, 26.4 obverse). Very fine and very rare.

The register of large cash states that these coins were used for presentation in the Palace of Ancestral Worship, each wrapped in a piece of rectangular cloth. Each time an emperor ascended to his ancestors (died) they were replaced with newly minted coins.
