CHINA, Northern Sung Dynasty, Emperor Ren Zong (Jen Tsung), (A.D. 1023-1063), iron money tree of 22 large iron coins in four rows with common stem, issued as Zhi-he (1054-1055), each coin 26mm, tree length 300 mm, width 150mm, (cf.S.512 for single iron cash, TFP 932, Hartill 16.143). Somewhat rusted, several single pieces broken off, otherwise fair and very rare, stored in plastic container.

This is a very rare, large part of an iron money tree. This money tree was recently excavated from Shanxi ancient mint site. A similar example with larger iron cash was in our Auction Sale 82 (lot 3181).

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
