BURMA, standard weight of the Burmese kings, the sacred "Hantha bird" issued 1853-1878, weight 160 grams corresponding to ten Kyats; another "Ziwazo bird" weight 160 grams issued 1846-1852, these are different varieties, (Robinson and Shaw, The Coins and Banknotes of Burma, Chapter 5, pp.31-4 [figure 11 and 13 p.32], cf.M.2831-5). Very fine. (2)

Ex Dr. Barrie Towers Collection and previously from the Tom Hanley Collection (Noble Numismatics Sale 90 [lot 1865]).
