L. CASSIUS CAECIANUS, (c.102 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.922 grams), obv. Ceres bust to left, CAEICIAN behind, C above, rev. two yoked oxen and plough to left, L. CASSI in exergue T., above, (S.199, Cr.321/1, Syd.594, B.Cassia 4). Attractive grey and golden red tone, nearly extremely fine and rare.

The type refers to colonisation probably by an ancestor.
