Bid at live.noble.com.au

T. CLOELIUS, (128 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.836 grams), obv. Roma head right, ROMA below, wreath behind, rev. Victory in biga right, ear of corn below, [T.]CLOVLI in exergue, (S.136 [£150 EF], Cr.260/1, Syd.516). Nearly extremely fine and scarce.

The omission of the mark of value at this time is very unusual. Sear suggests it might possibly be concealed in the spokes of the chariot wheel.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
