NEW HEBRIDES, U1 Fleet Recreation Centre, Aore Island, WWII, chit Good for One Beer, invalid after Dec. 31 1943, written in pencil on back, "Esperato (sic) Santo / in the / New / Hebrides". Extremely fine and extremely rare.

Aore Island is one of the chain of islands of the New Hebrides. During WWII it was used by the U.S.Navy as a site for the re-supply of ships with fresh water.
