BRITISH INDIA, Prisoners of War Camp, Trichinopoly, c1901, one rupee, serial no.1214, dated 17.7.01, signed by "Major, / Commandant Boer Camp / Trichinopoly", also stamped and signed diagonally at top left, "Major, / Commandant, Boer Parolers Camp / Kaity, Nilgiris", printed diagonally across the centre, "War : 11th. October, 1899. (in black) / Peace : 1st. June, 1902. (in gold)", the word "Cancelled" in red ink at top left corner, nine paid stamps on back, one dated "10.8.01" and the official stamp of Kaity Nilgiris Paroler (not Parolers as on front) Camp. Several folds, some foxing and some edge tears, fine and rare.
