SICILY, Syracuse, (c.485-479 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.964 grams), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning horses, rev. **SU*R**A K OS IO N around to right, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, diadem of beads, four dolphins around, (cf.S.914, Boehringer 197 same dies [obverse 88/reverse 136 dies], Randazzo -, SNG ANS 63 [same dies]). Good fine and a very rare die combination.

Ex Dr. Colin Burnside Collection, and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 66 (lot 3272). Boehringer notes only 2 specimens from these dies.
