VAN DIEMEN'S LAND, bill on the English Treasury, Commissariat Office, Hobart Town, 20 August 1823 (182 printed), No.145, to Capt. James Dixon, for ?150.0.0, hand signed by Lt. Governor William Sorell and A. Moodie, black on white, unwatermarked paper, for presentation to Whitehall, London, engraved by Samuel Clayton (MVR illustrates a similar example Fig.12 [p.11-12]). Extremely fine, and very rare, probably the only example in private hands.
