HORSE RACING MEMORABILIA, silver shield by W.Kerr, removed from a winner's trophy, engraved, "Rosehill Cup / September 15th 1928 / Won By / Mr. J.J.Leahy's / Br. G. "Resource" / Trained by D.Lewis / Ridden by / J.C.Rowley." Very fine.

John Jeremia Leahy, 1875-1959, grazier, stock-dealer and racehorse owner was a legendary stock and land dealer who assembled a pastoral empire to rival that of A.B.Triggs. He was a member of the Australian Jockey Club and owned the Ardsley and Woodlands (Bundilla) studs near Bathurst. Together with research sheet.
