JAPANESE TANTO, blade 11 1/2 inches, with kozuka fitted into scabbard which is timber decorated with a basket-weave pattern with the top area banded, tsuka-ito fitted to timber and brass cord guide decorated with flowers, black metal tsuba decorated with flowers and with one slot for kozuka handle, koskira and kojiri both decorated and the base of the handle is decorated with flying cranes and flowers, handle is timber with wave-patterned carved section on both sides and with each bearing a black tortoise menuki, small blade stamped by maker and details engraved on small blade area of scabbard. Extremely fine.
