MAXIMUS AS CAESAR, (A.D. 235-238), AE sestertius, (15.99 grams), Rome mint, issued 236-8, obv. MAXIMVS CAES GERM, bare headed draped bust to right of Maximus, rev. PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS, Maximus standing left, holding rod and spear, with two standards set in ground behind, S C across, (S.8411 [ú170 VF], RIC 13, BMC 213, C.14). Good fine/nearly fine, scarce, lot with Boyd ticket.
