PALESTINE, Judaea, Bar Kochba Revolt. (132-135 CE), silver zuz or denarius (3.16 grams), undated issue (year 3, struck 134/5 CE). obv. "Shim'on" in Hebrew within wreath, rev. "for the freedom of Jerusalem" in Hebrew, flagon with handle; luvav to right. (S.5663, Mildenberg 121 [O18/R76]; Meshorer 283 var. [pellet in center of obv.], AJC II 66; H.726; Bromberg 498 [same dies]). Nearly extremely fine, overstruck on a Bostra drachm of Trajan (cf. SNG ANS 1155).
