THRACE, Island of, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.224 grams), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Herakles naked standing to left, holding club, lion skin over left arm, to right **HRAKLEOUS* to left **SWTHROS*, below **QASION*, M to left, (cf.S.1759, SNG Cop. 1039). Toned, good very fine/good fine.
